The fears and phobias that imprison us. We must be released from all of them. All. Of. Them

I could go on and on. But the items in the list above have one thing in common: Most of us are afraid of at least 5 of those things. Maybe more.
That fear powers are relationships. It powers our politics. It powers almost every conspiracy theory that is roaming in our heads. These fears power our entertainment. These fears power our education. These fears, in one way or another, may kill us. We fear these things more than death itself.
We choose those who pretend to be our leaders by their promises to try to alleviate these fears in one way, shape or form. Protect us, we say, by building walls. By placing barriers. By one way or another. Eliminating those people or things that make us uncomfortable. The last 11 Presidents we've elected, including the one we are stuck with now have been placed simply because we wanted our Great Leader to wave a magic wand and make the thing we are afraid of vanish. Permanently.
Fear gave us Germany in 1933. And as much as we rightly decry the concept of The Final Solution, what we fail to admit is that most of us harbor the belief in that. But we don’t call it that, for Adolf’s target demo is not ours. Whether we all admit it our not, we have all said, “the world and my life would be much better if every one of those (insert any person or thing mentioned at the beginning of this blog) would just disappear.” We would not want to use Those Exact Methods...nothing bloody or deadly…just somehow vanish. It’s a Wonderful Life in reverse.
The problem is that fear is the very thing that prevents humankind. Think about this: imagine not possessing the phobias that bind you so much. And if we free ourselves of these fears, it may be possible that we could be…perish the thought…happy.
I know, realistically, we may have to get through this era of hell first before things can be corrected. However, once that is done, we would need to examine all of our fears and forbiddens to ask why we feel that way, and should we move away from them. I am a chronic trypanophobic…an almost clinical fear of needles. Once I discovered I was Type 2 D, it was a fear I had to overcome…a fear I had for sixty-five years. It still makes me incredibly nervous…I still need someone to accompany me to the doctor’s for blood draws and such. But dealing with those fears helped save my life. And I feel it’s the same with most of the baseless fears many of us possess. If we are to move past this age of fear, we must release ourselves from the constant phobias that bind us. That means we have to jointly have serious discussions on a lot of things that we are prisoner to. That means a lot of the “traditions” that have imprisoned us for centuries…all of them. Because if we do not…if the societies of this planet do not…this age of fear will re-emerge and perpetuate.
The choice is simple: total fearless progress…or total regression based on fright. The choice is yours, Make the right one.
